Miramar is a city located within the state of Florida. Located in Broward County, Miramar is just a short drive from both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The city's name translates to "View of the Sea" in Spanish. A Cuban suburb of Havana is likewise named Miramar.

The city of Miramar was incorporated in the year 1955, when it was a small city of just 7.6 square km. Now it is a huge city spread over 11.5 square km. Nearby are the municipalities of Hollywood, Plantation and Sunrise. The motto of Miramar before was "The Center of Everything." Now it is "Beauty and Progress."

The city of Miramar has many community events and parks. The Miramar Civic Center hosts two fall events: the Caribe Fest during September and the Halloween Masquerade Dance in the month of October. A new Town Center with waterfront views would hold the City Hall, retail shops and a public library, in addition to residences. The Miramar Cultural Arts Center is a center used for the visual and performing arts.

Visitors and residents will find a lot of attractions within Broward County: Art and Culture Centre of Hollywood; Museum of Art; International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame and Museum; International Swimming Hall of Fame and Museum of Discovery Science.
