Plano is situated in the state of Texas, with most of the city lying with the limits of Collin County. During 2010, the population was projected to be approximately 259,841. Currently, it is the ninth-biggest city within Texas State, and the 71st most inhabited city in the country. Plano City is part of the metropolitan area called the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
