Durham is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina and among the three corners of the Research Triangle, a research park. Durham City serves as the county seat of Durham County. A smaller portion of the city falls within Wake County. With a population of about 228,300, Durham is the 5th-biggest city in North Carolina state. Two main universities are located there: Duke University and North Carolina Central University.
