As ethical issues move to the forefront of discussion in all areas of life in the 21st century, familiarity and expertise in thinking about, discussing and problem solving ethical issues will be valued. The ethics major may provide some with direct career options as ethics consultants in various organizations. More likely, this major will make students more marketable in virtue of their comfort with discussing and discerning ethical issues, familiarity with discussion across disciplines, and developed rigorous reading, writing and thinking skills.
