Campus: Facilities, Residence and Location

The College is located in the south western portion of Chatham-Kent and Essex. It has four campuses: The Windsor Campus, Saint Clair Centre for the Arts, Chatham/Thames Campus, and Wallaceburg-James A. Burgess Skills Centre. The Windsor Campus has around 5,500 students, with an on-campus residence, gym, pool, varsity sports programs, and many more. St. Clair Centre for the Arts has around 800 students, Chatham/Thames Campus has around 1,100 students, which offers a new 12-unit town home complex inside the campus. It also fosters a dynamic student life through its various intramural sports and community arena. The Wallaceburg-James A. Burgess Skills Centre is focused on Technical Industry Education, and it recently expanded an additional 11,000 square feet of shop space and lab that can help accommodate 175 apprenticeship and post-secondary students.

On-campus residences are offered by the College. The Windsor Residence (204, two bedroom suites) offers amenities which include: a kitchenette, mini-fridge, microwave, satellite TV, 24 hour security, and laundry facilities. The Chatham/Thames Residence offers four bedrooms complete with two bathrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. There are also plenty of activities that are organized by The Thames Students Incorporated inside the campus.

Student Services and Student Life

The campus offers a broad range of services to its students. They include: Counselling Services, Tutoring Services, Testing Services, Disability Services, Learning Support, Aboriginal Services, Career Planning & Admissions, Co-op Education, Deaf & Interpreting Services, Health Services, Library Services, On-Campus Services Orientation, Student Government, and Student Employment.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) at Windsor Campus is the student-government of the College. Its aim is to provide diverse services and represent the students in dealing with issues that concern them and the college. Some of their services include: organizing entertaining and informative events, publishing the Saint - Student newspaper, providing funding for student clubs, accommodating all full-time, fee-paying students (Thames campus students are also included) a health coverage/prescription-drug-rebate plan, operating the campus restaurant-pub (Griff's Cavern), maintaining a food bank for needy students, and managing the student centre. The Thames Students Incorporated (TSI) is the student government of Chatham. They act as an alliance between the college staff and the students. Some of their activities are: Family Christmas party, Frosh Week and Orientation events, Intramural sports and the Thames hockey team, Peer tutoring, class senators, bursaries, student photo ID card production, graduation photos, a student health/drug-rebate insurance, and food vouchers, PigFest, Themed Pub Nights, and Trips (Cedar Point, theatre, sporting events, and many others).

The Student Athletic Association (SAA) offers the following activities for students who are interested in sports and recreation. Their intramurals stimulate interaction with other students, facilitate sportsmanship and correct attitudes for students. Some of their recreational activities include: tournaments, day trips, individual and team sports, competition, and other special events. In addition, they also offer Dry Sauna and Aquatic Services.

Academic Programs

St. Clair offers more than 85 diploma, certificate, degrees, and post-graduate certificate programs. They also offer English as a Second Language (ESL), Post Secondary career programs, and Apprentice programs. It has nine academic fields: Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business & Information Technology, Community Studies, Engineering Technologies, Health Sciences, Media, Art & Design, Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship, and Bachelor Degree Programs.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The College offers students financial aid and awards for deserving students. They include: Ontario Student Program (OSAP), Ontario Special Bursary, Ontario Work Study Program, Students with Disabilities Program, St. Clair Work Study Program, Tuition Bursaries, General Bursaries / Scholarships, Entrance Awards / Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Women in Technology Scholarship, Student Emergency Loans, and External Scholarships Bursaries.

Windsor Information

Windsor, Ontario is the southernmost city in Canada. The region marks the only border crossing where entering the mainland United States from Canada involves travelling north. Windsor is one of Canada's major automobile manufacturing centers and is often referred to as the Automotive Capital of Canada. The city is home to the headquarters of Chrysler Canada. Automotive industries include the Chrysler mini-van assembly plant, a Ford Motor Company engine plant, a General Motors transmission plant, along with a number of smaller tool and die and automotive parts manufacturers.

Windsor tourist attractions include Casino Windsor, a lively downtown, Little Italy, the Art Gallery of Windsor, the Odette Sculpture Park, Ojibway Park, and nearby Point Pelee National Park.
