About Redeemer University College

Campus: Facilities, Residence and Location

Situated in Ancaster, Ontario, the campus has beautiful scenery that can perfectly complement the academic lifestyle of the students. Those who plan to study here have a lot of options when it comes to finding places to live in. If they are incoming students, they can live in a townhouse, such as the Townhouse Residences at Redemeer, which is located in the Calvin, Cranmer, and Luther Courts. Second-year students can choose to live in the Augustine Hall, while the older students can go to independent apartments situated inside the Augustine Hall and Luther Court.

Student Services and Student Life

The Campus provides a lot of services to its students, such as Conference Services, Food Services, Food Plan, Sustainable Initiatives, On-Campus Summer and Long-Term Housing. It also has other notable facilities that include two squash courts, two lit tennis courts, a soccer field, a beach volleyball sand court, a lit outdoor basketball court, a double sized hardwood gymnasium, and a workout studio or fitness centre.

There are many things that students can take part in. Some of the things they can participate in are: The Battle of the Bands, where musicians compete to be crowned the number one Redeemer band; Socal Justice Conference, where students meet up every Saturday to learn and discuss about social justice issues; Banquet, an event where students dress, eat dinner and dance at an end-of-the-year party in Hamilton; Chapel Service, for students and faculty members who plan to participate in worship, either through singing or reading the gospel; Sibling Weekend, where planned, special events for the siblings of Redeemer students are made; Church in the Box, a worship service held once a month on Sunday evenings; Coffeehouse, a place where creative people meet up and share their poetry, skits, songs, and other creative talents; Book Sale Sleepover, where students sleep outside the school so they can have the early pick of used books that are on sale the first week of each semester; Hot Spot, a once-a-month informal service which includes musicians, speakers and singers that perform in the Rec Center on a Thursday evening. The campus also caters to athletic students, and those who are athletically-inclined are encouraged to join the Redeemer Royals, which compete in women's and men's basketball, soccer, indoor soccer and badminton, cross-country, and volleyball.
