The original objectives of the Shevchenko Foundation were modest. Provide grants to assist the community using an original capital base of $30,000 and try and grow it to a $1 million fund. The Shevchenko Foundation started making its first grants in 1964 and achieved the Capital Fund total of $1 million in 1978 and in this report you will see that it has reached the $7 million mark. By next fiscal year end, the Capital Fund of the Foundation will approach $20 million. An unbelievable achievement.
