A Locksmith Program is designed to teach students how to repair, service and/or install all types of keys, locks, access/egress control systems (mechanical or electrical) and builders of hardware in accordance with the provisions the Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor general, Security Programs Division, Policing & Community Safety Branch, Private Investigators and Security Agencies Act.
A student of a Locksmith Program can usually complete his/her studies within a 2 year time frame. There is no in-class teaching required to become a Locksmith. However, there is a pre-employment training course available, which takes approx. 6 months to complete.
