The Heat and Frost Insulator Program is designed to teach students how to cover exposed surfaces of pipes, steam generators, ducts, process vats and related equipment with a variety of insulating materials. The student will learn how insulating materials not only reduce the transfer of heat and cold from the plumbing, heating, cooling and refrigeration systems, piping equipment and pressure vessels they apply it to, they also reduce noise and the chance of fire.
The Heat and Frost Insulators Program can usually be completed in 4 years. After graduation, the Heat and Frost Insulator will generally work on a wide variety of commercial and industrial sites, often in confined conditions with relatively dangerous substances.
