California State University, Los Angeles is pleased to offer several $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 per year, that may be renewed for up to three additional years), to selected California high school seniors demonstrating high achievement, motivation and a commitment to education.
Applicants for the President’s Scholars Program must apply for Fall 2010 admission to Cal State L.A. before the application deadline. They must also meet these criteria:• Be a California resident.
1. Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.75.
2. Have a combined SAT Reasoning Test score of at least 1200 (based only on the Critical Reading and Math sections), or a composite ACT score of at least 27.
3. Qualify for college level English and mathematics.
4. Submit the completed President’s Scholars Program Application and all supporting documents by March 1, 2010.
How to Apply
A complete President’s Scholars Program Application includes the application (signed, with an essay), a letter of recommendation from your high school principal, and unofficial copies of your current high school transcript and your SAT/ACT scores. All materials must be submitted together and postmarked by March 1, 2010. Applications submitted in person must be delivered to the Scholarship Office (Student Affairs 124) by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010. No faxes will be accepted.
Notification
The President’s Scholars Program Committee will review applications and notify all applicants in April 2010. If you are not selected for the President’s Scholars Program, your application will be considered for other Cal State L.A. scholarships.
