Engineers in this group usually plan, evaluate, research, and manage projects in their area of specialization.
A. Civil engineers design the construction/repair of structures such as: buildings, roads, tunnels, airports, and rapid transit facilities; bridges, dams, ports, and coastal installations; systems related to highway and transportation services; and water distribution/sanitation.
B. Mechanical engineers design the operation of machinery/systems for: heating, ventilation/air conditioning, and power generation; transportation; and processing/manufacturing.
C. Electrical and electronics engineers design the operation/performance of: electrical generation and distribution networks; electrical machinery/components; electronic communications; and instrumentation/control systems, equipment, and components.
D. Chemical engineers design the operation/improvement of: chemical processes and equipment; quality control; environmental protection; biochemical/biotechnical engineering; and other areas.
